In Part 1 of this exceptional six
part swimming video, Coach Marsh looks
at the full butterfly stroke and
follows with a brief on-deck teaching
discussion of the components and
timing of the stroke. In Part 2, Marsh
calls upon Auburn Assistant Dave
Durden who shares his creativity and
butterfly expertise presenting seven
sequential sculling drills that
uniquely transition into a progression
of five butterfly swimming videos
stroke drills utilizing a front
snorkel. Next (Part 3), Coach Marsh
proceeds with six additional fly
drills progressively designed to teach
a swimmer maximum efficiency with a
focus on keeping balance forward.
(Part 4) Durden shares three different
drills that are regularly incorporated
into the Auburn butterfly system. In
Part 5, Marsh pulls the stroke
components together and narrates full
stroke demonstration through a
descending set of 4 x 25's from a 200
pace down to an all-out sprint.
Utilizing a telestrator (Part 6),
Marsh takes you frame by frame through
a complete swimming training stroke
cycle with two different swimmers
giving you a unique opportunity to
look at the stroke dynamics through
the artful eyes of David Marsh! This
exceptional butterfly video is greatly
enhanced with expert demonstration by
former Auburn All-American butterflier
Demerae Christianson, along with
extraordinary underwater footage and
slow motion segments throughout! 67
minutes.
